Because we dont have a conscious mind, we are always in autopilot mode. When we are in autopilot mode we are unaware of our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions.

The fact is that autopilot mode is not a state of consciousness. It is not a state where a person can go through a series of actions and thoughts without making a conscious decision about how to go about it. When we are aware of our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions, we are in autopilot mode.
