Yes, you can run a 3D rig, but only on some Dell laptops. The D250s, the D530s, and the D540s all use the same form factor as the D270s, but none of them support Intel HD 3000 graphics. So youll have to buy another machine. A newer version of the machine might have better 3D support.
Also, many people assume the HD 3000 is a standard discrete graphics card, even though it’s a discrete graphics card. This is untrue because youll be able to use an older discrete graphics card (such as an ATI Radeon with a PCI-express slot) to get it to work.
For those of you who want to play the latest game, you’ll have to buy a video card or a graphics card. If you want to play a more recent game, you’ll want to buy a GPU. The cheapest GPU is going to be the most expensive to buy.
